If you compare these two different methods and put the performance requirements of the rough terrain scissor lift into consideration, you can choose the open way of the oil circulation system, as the host and hydraulic pump are installed separately, the tank need a large storage space, and the lift simple structure as the designing principle, the open circuit would meet the all requirements better.

Heat dissipation: open circuit is better; closed circuit would need auxiliary pump.
Stain resistance: closed circuit is good but the oil filter standard is high.
System efficiency: the pressure loss in the tunnel is relatively large for open circuit, and flow regulator efficiency is low; for closed circuit, the pressure loss is small with high flow regulator efficiency.
Limited speed braking form: for open circuit, use the balance valve in speed limit and braking valve in dynamic braking, it would lead to the oil temperature rise; for closed circuit, when hydraulic pump is driven by the electric motor, the motor would restrain some electric power in the speed limit and braking processes.
